Today’s the last day to get the LOWEST price on the initiation fee. It’s $750. After that it’s $1500.
Doesn’t sound like much of a deal now does it 👀…
Here’s the thing: You’re going to think it’s expensive (and that’s because it is).
Here’s the other thing: You’re also going to think you can “just drop in later after they’ve opened” (and this part… is NOT true).
If you’re considering a BETTER pickleball experience, now is the time to make a move on signing up for The Pickleball Club. Because I HAVE.
Trust me, it’s not cheap. But the thing I wondered is… “but is it worth it“…
The Pickleball Club is a REALLY hard sell in Florida. After playing across the US in 27 states, no one has more free pickleball courts than Florida.
But does it mean it’s a good experience?
I waited 30 minutes for a game at Whispering Pines the other night while someone just SAT on a court not even playing. I work 12 hours a day when I’m not traveling – I simply DO NOT have time for this.
It’s why I love to play at pickleball clubs like Pickleball Kingdom when I travel.
I’ve signed up for The Pickleball Club. Yep. I paid. And YES I am encouraging you to do the same because I want to play pickleball with you.
-Even if you pickle me. Again.
So let’s talk about how much it costs because there is nothing I hate more than a lack of price transparency.
What is The Pickleball Club
A 33,000 square foot indoor club with 12 pickleball courts. They’re making it “exclusive” – which means it’s VERY hard to play here (or it’s very expensive to play here) if you’re not a member.
They’ll have a club house with food and drinks and blah blah blah. Basically: it’ll be nice.
It’s located off St Lucie West:
When Does The Pickleball Club Open
This summer. It’s vague. They’re working on it.
What’s the best way to know when they open? Their Facebook page. Check it out by clicking here.
How EXPENSIVE is The Pickleball Club?
It’s not cheap. I’ll say that up front, but read on BELOW for a few arguments about why it’s worth it.
NOTE: I’ve been asked to NOT take photos of their marketing materials and publish it – and yes, I do respect an ask like this.
So instead, I’ve broken down the price I am personally paying. It looks like this…
The Pickleball Club Pricing for One Adult
Initiation fee: $1,500 per person (currently discounted BEFORE they open to $1,000)
Monthly dues: $125 (you save 5% if paying for the entire year up front)
There is an ANNUAL requirement of $600 in food in beverage (*I already know you’re likely dropping your jaw about this)
TOTAL FOR THE YEAR: $3,025
Yes I saved the 5% because I paid up front for everything. If you think “this is SO expensive and makes no sense at all”, then read on…
Reasons why this MIGHT make A LOT of financial sense
If you’ve made it this far and are STILL reading all these words I’ve written, you play pickleball. Like me. A lot.
If you play
- 2x/week $24/visit
- 3x/week $16/visit
- 5x/week $10/visit
I think about it this way…
Consider this: When you go to Mid Florida ($3) or the Stuart YMCA ($10) or Fenn Center ($5) to play indoor
- The HOURS ARE LIMITED
- The quality of your game matchups is NOT guaranteed
- You are on gym flooring
- You are using TEMPORARY nets
- Courts are NOT individually gated
Signing up for The Pickleball Club means I respect my time. I am paying to get the type of play I want WHEN I want it.
-Makes sense doesn’t it?
If you’ve NEVER played at a PROPER pickleball club, it’s VERY hard to understand the difference between a club and the free parks.
Imagine playing at the level you want to be playing at, when you want, and with zero to minimal waiting (and no rain, heat, sun, bugs, and wind).
It’s why when I’m traveling in DC, I drive out to Dill Dinkers for the BEST pickleball games instead of standing around at the parks. You get EXACTLY what you want.
Here’s a video of what you can expect….
But what about the stupid food and beverage requirement?
If you’re thinking about the $600 as a single payment, consider this:
If you go to Starbucks ONE time a week and get ONE flat white and ONE pastry, it’s the same exact yearly price.
Except at The Pickleball Club they serve alcohol… on average I pay $45 for a round of drinks at Meating Street, so I see this as a non-issue.
Why did I bother writing all of this?
No, The Pickleball Club IS NOT paying me to write this.
It’s for two reasons:
- I want you to play pickleball with me. I still plan to go to Whispering Pines (I mean come on, I know TONS of you that play twice a day), but I plan to spend most of my time at The Pickleball Club
- I want you to USE THE REFERRAL PROGRAM
You get $100 off and I get $100 if you mention my name.
So boom. Sign up. Let’s pickle together before the price goes up!
If you have a question you want to ask me about pricing, I encourage you to reach out to The Pickleball Club by emailing David Velez (david.velez@thepickleballclub.com).
If you message me on social media, I average about 200 messages and comments per platform per day (and I am on every single platform)… so…. it’s better if you ask me at Whispering Pines in person 👀
🤘🏽See ya on the courts!
