If you’re looking to play pickleball in Port St. Lucie, Florida, Winterlakes Park is a newer park with four pickleball courts.
In this post you’ll find helpful information about the courts, the open play schedule and more helpful information.
What are the Pickleball Facilities like at Winterlakes Park
Winterlakes Park is a newer park that opened in early 2021. It has four dedicated pickleball courts with clean lines, wind screens, and quality nets.
While there are no fences between the courts, you have a single gate that leads in and out of the pickleball court area with adequate spacing between courts and away from the screened fencing.

One thing to know, there is no seating both in the court area and outside the court area. Most people bring their own chairs and hang their bags on the fence.
You’ll find a variety of skill levels here with players being extremely friendly and helpful if you are new.
One downside about the park is there is no lighting. Given it’s proximity to the neighboring community, lights were not installed at the park. This limits the open play hours, which you can read more about in the next section.
When is Pickleball Open Play at Winterlakes Park
If you’re looking to drop in for open play pickleball at Winterlakes Park you’ll find the most number of players on Saturday and Monday mornings.
It can often get so busy that the paddle line up cannot hold all the paddles (and people hang their paddles on the fence to indicate they are next in line).
While there IS open play 7 days a week, the most number of players tend to be here between 9am and 11:30am.
In my experience playing here a dozen times, I’ve had to wait for more people to show up or I couldn’t get a game started given how few people were here.
Occasionally some of the better players will hold one of the four courts as a challenge court (higher level players and advanced players only).
If you are looking for guaranteed people to play with, consider going to another park like Halpatiokee Park Pickleball. See that blog post by clicking here.
