If you are considering booking your accommodations at the Walker Tribeca Hotel in New York City, then read on for helpful tips!
I’ve got you covered with all you need to know about this trendy, modern property.
From its prime location to the fantastic amenities, below you’ll find a rundown of the pros and cons to help you decide if this is the right spot for your next NYC adventure.
Five Things to Love about the Walker Tribeca Hotel
There are many things to love about this property, but we won’t ONLY talk about the pros (read on for the cons!)…
1. Prime Location
The Walker Tribeca is nestled in the heart of Tribeca, one of NYC’s most vibrant neighborhoods. This location is a dream for travelers, offering easy access to multiple subway lines (it is VERY ideal for getting ALL over the city and not just going North/South, for example).
Whether you’re heading north-south on the 6 train or exploring east-west routes, getting around the city is a breeze. Plus, many local attractions are within walking distance, making this an ideal base for exploring NYC.
Some of my favorites nearby were The Django (a jazz venue inside The Roxy Hotel) as well as Two Hands (a lovely breakfast and brunch spot) a short walk away.
2. Stunning Views
The views from this hotel are truly something special. MANY hotels advertise having a “rooftop”, but not only can you see views of the city from top floors, the rooftop bar has an EXCELLENT view of the city.
For the best experience, request a room on the 7th through 10th floors. These upper-level rooms provide breathtaking cityscape views, giving you a true taste of New York’s iconic skyline.
3. Diverse Amenities
This hotel offers a range of spaces to enjoy beyond your room. The lobby is a welcoming spot with coffee, tea, and pastries available for purchase in the morning.
It also connects to Blue Bottle Coffee, a favorite among coffee enthusiasts. Additionally, there’s a highly-rated on-site restaurant and a rooftop bar that offers seasonal views of the sunset.
Don’t miss Saint Tuesday, a speakeasy inside the hotel with live music and a cozy atmosphere.
For those who like to stay active, the 24-hour gym is a great perk.
4. Trendy Vibe
The Walker Tribeca exudes a trendy, modern vibe. It strikes a perfect balance between luxury and a cool, contemporary aesthetic.
Unlike some five-star hotels that can feel a bit stuffy, this hotel has a laid-back yet upscale atmosphere that many will find refreshing.
I’ve previously stayed at WestHouse NYC, which is also a boutique hotel, but with a totally different vibe. Read more about it by clicking here.
5. Comfortable Accommodations
The rooms, though compact (it is New York, after all), are designed with comfort in mind.
The beds are incredibly cozy, and the rooms feature stylish decor, modern amenities, and plenty of natural light. The marble finishes in the bathrooms add a touch of elegance, and the showers are top-notch.
Quick tip!
When booking tours in NYC, it’s important to book ones with top traveler reviews and are easily refundable if travel plans change.
Six Things Not to Love about the Walker Tribeca Hotel
Let’s keep it real, not everything about this property is perfect, make the best decision for you!
1. Pricey Stay
Let’s be real – you’re paying for the prime location and stunning views. New York City hotels can be steep, and the Walker Tribeca is no exception.
However, there are ways to find deals, such as using apps like Hotel Tonight or booking through traveler-ranked options on Booking.com.

2. Additional Fees
There is a $30 facility fee, which covers amenities but adds to the overall cost. While common in NYC, it’s still an extra expense to consider.
3. Small Spaces
The rooms are small, even by New York standards. If you’re traveling alone, it’s manageable, but couples or those needing more space might find it a bit cramped. Rollaway beds are not an option here, so plan accordingly.
4. Limited In-Room Amenities
Some amenities, like an iron or coffee maker, aren’t standard in the rooms and need to be requested. While hairdryers are provided, you’ll need to ask for other items, which can be a minor inconvenience.
5. Noise Levels
This is New York City, so expect some noise. The rooms are close together, and the city sounds can be heard from your room. Additionally, with only two elevators, you might find yourself waiting longer than you’d like, especially if one is out of service.
3 pro travel tips for booking hotels!
1. After booking your hotel, check rates again prior to your trip. Hotel prices fluctuate week to week and sometimes the hotel rate will drop
2. Filter hotel results by traveler rating. While star rating is important, it’s not the only way to rate a hotel
3. Join the hotel loyalty program. Even if you’re not sure you’ll stay at that hotel group again, it never hurts to accumulate points
Another great tip? Consider Hotel Tonight! It’s GREAT for cities like New York City and you can score 20% off your first booking with HOTEL TONIGHT using code CLOZADA14.

Bottom Line
Would I recommend the Walker Tribeca?
Absolutely, but with a few caveats. The location is unbeatable, the views are stunning, and the trendy vibe is a big plus.
However, the price and small room size are worth considering. If you can snag a good deal and don’t mind the compact space, this hotel is a great choice for a modern, comfortable stay in NYC.
