Can you imagine not being in one place for more than 3 weeks in over 7 years? It’s definitely an adventure, but it also means with a life of nonstop travel, I’m constantly on the go.
People always ask me “what are some of your most helpful pro travel tips?”
I’m sharing a few tried and true ones and a few I recently discovered…
Get Cheaper Gas (and restaurants and groceries)
This one blew my mind and I’m kinda upset I didn’t know about Upside sooner. I’ve been touring around California on a bus and let’s just say the “over $5/gallon gas prices” are not my favorite part about the trip.
Upside is a cashback app that gives you cashback for transactions you make at gas stations, restaurants, and grocery stores across the U.S. I saved 34 cents PER GALLON on my last fill up (which got me below the $5/gallon amount and made me feel better about life, lol).
To claim your cashback points, all you have to do is upload a picture of your receipt. After 4 – 24 hours, your cashback will be processed.

Workout around the world with ClassPass
THIS is how I stay fit on the road (my doctor told me that lifting a champagne glass to my lips 50 times a day doesn’t count as a bicep curl).
ClassPass gives you worldwide access to thousands of top-rated gyms, fitness studios, salons and spas. Depending on where you are traveling, classes will “cost” a varying amount of credits. Regardless, it is ALWAYS CHEAPER than buying a drop in pass at the studio.
For example, in Sacramento I was paying $2.75 per yoga class instead of the $22 drop in fee for a one hour class. Or in Los Angeles I was paying $15 for a bootcamp class instead of the $28. And it’s not just fitness classes, I use it to get a manicure, or I recently tried cryo (i.e. they put you in a cold tank for the worst 30 seconds of your entire life).
They’re giving an exclusive free trial (with 20 bonus credits!) only available to friends of mine.
Get the SMARTEST flight with Google Flights
I use Google Flights to find the BEST flight.
This doesn’t mean always mean the cheapest flight, but it removes ALL the time wasted in looking for the right flight because I can narrow down my search to the parameters that MUST fit my travel. Sometimes I can be really flexible and it helps me to find something that costs a fraction of what I thought I’d pay, and other times I have VERY strict dates and times and specific airports. Regardless, it helps me to find the cheapest thing within my parameters.

Find better DEALS on Rental Cars
I’ve paid over $1,000 in rental cars in the last 3 weeks (at 3 different places for 3 different rentals) and frankly, it’s annoying. No one WANTS to pay for a rental car, right?
Tbh, I used to be loyal to a single company until I realized I don’t need the perk of a getting a convertible when really, I just want the smallest car that fits in every parking space and doesn’t guzzle gas.
That’s when aggregators come in handy and my rental on Hertz for my upcoming rental was supposed to be $700. With RentalCars.com I scored it for $328. So I’m putting that in the books as a win.
Park your car (or rental car) for a WAY less
Oolala this is one that I’ve been loving because I can skip over the ridiculously expensive hotel parking prices. Parking was $55 a night for my hotel in San Diego at the Hilton Gaslamp!
Using Spot Hero got me a covered garage a short walk away for $26.35 for 24 hours (instead of $55 + gratuity). I’ve used this in a dozen+ cities (below is a screenshot of a few examples of what I paid vs. what it would have otherwise cost)
