Virgin Voyages is not for everyone. There. I said it.
It’s perfect for those who love a vibrant atmosphere and lively experiences and most importantly – people who are open minded.
If you’re more reserved and prefer quiet dinners, this cruise might not suit your taste. Virgin Voyages differs from traditional cruises in many ways, continually evolving its offerings to enhance the experience.
It’s fun. All around. Not everyone likes to have fun (as weird as that sounds). There are plenty of ways to enjoy a quieter experience on this ship, but for the most part, they setup the experience so you are constantly interacting with the crew (The Happenings Cast) and having fun with other sailors.
I am an introvert. No one believes me, but it’s true. This is not a cruise for “extroverts” per se, but it’s one where if you want to get out there and have a GREAT TIME… it’s well, easy.

The Dining Experience on Virgin Voyages is Different AND Exceptional
The food on Virgin Voyages is a highlight for many, with options ranging from classic to experimental:
- Gunbae: This Korean barbecue-style restaurant offers not just exceptional food but a communal dining experience. The chicken appetizer is a standout, and the interactive shot game adds an extra layer of fun. It’s a place where strangers become friends over a meal.
- The Wake: For those who prefer traditional dining, The Wake serves up steak and seafood in a relaxed or elegant setting. The Seafood Tower and the pork belly Benedict are highly recommended for their quality and value.
- Test Kitchen: This experimental dining venue may not be for everyone, but its unique dishes, like the mushroom pâté that looks like a mushroom but is actually a pâté, are worth trying at least once.
- The Galley: Offering a twist on the typical breakfast, The Galley features unique dishes like the French toast cheeseburger—a decadent start to the day packed with flavor and calories.

Virgin Voyages’ Entertainment Has a Fresh Take on Fun
Virgin Voyages’ entertainment is far from the typical cruise activities.
The DJs play a diverse mix of music that suits the vibe of each space, avoiding the clichéd activities like the Cupid Shuffle by the pool.
The adult-only shows are sophisticated and humorous without being cheesy. Performances like “Duel Reality” showcase incredible acrobatics in an intimate setting.

A top misperception is the ships are different. They’re not. They’re the same (except Brilliant Lady – slightly slimmer to fit in the Panama Canal).

Virgin Voyages appeals to a broad age range. It’s a misconception that the line is only for the young; we’ve celebrated with passengers from 18 to over 70. The inclusive and fun atmosphere invites everyone to enjoy themselves, regardless of age.
