Where can you play pickleball with a beautiful ocean backdrop? Look no further than Pepper Park Beachside in one of the quieter, but very beautiful parts of South Florida in Fort Pierce.
In this post you’ll find helpful information about the courts, the open play schedule and more helpful information.
What are the Pickleball Facilities like
Pepper Park Beachside in Fort Pierce, Florida has multiple pickleball courts available for public use.
As of 2023 they are expanding the number of pickleball courts available, but currently there are two dedicated pickleball courts and two tennis courts with pickleball lines.
Players are required to bring their own equipment, including paddles and balls.
There are only a few benches inside the court area, so many people bring their own chairs.
Next to the courts are ample parking, restrooms, showers, and picnic areas available for visitors to use. Don’t miss the short walk into the beach after you’ve finished playing!
When is Pickleball Open Play at Pepper Park Beachside
It’s been said you’ll find players here 7 days a week (primarily in mornings and evenings). Weekends tend to be busier and I came on a Sunday morning. Surprisingly with a clear and perfect 70 degree morning, enough players didn’t show up until after 8:15am and there were less than 10 people by 9:30am. This was significantly fewer than I anticipated, but as with all open play, numbers can fluctuate.
There is a single paddle lineup against the fence and players here are very friendly. There are no rules about “who starts” the serve and when a ball is on court, it’s common to just call “ball on” (vs. in other places I’ve traveled and play they say “pickle” like Phoenix, Arizona).
