Many people know Liquid IV for being amazing for hydration – whether that’s after playing sports or after a long night (or weekend) of partying.
Their presence at festivals like Coachella are a result of their original investors in the brand being famous artists, DJs and more. Many don’t know that flavors like Strawberry originally came from a partnership with investor Steve Aoki coming out with the flavor “Strawberry Cake” (there is a hint of “shortbread” when you drink this flavor) because he’s known for throwing a cake at the audience when he’s DJing.
But many people don’t know this next part…
Liquid IV Donates Millions of Dollars in Product and Funding to Non Profits
One thing most people don’t know is the reason why Liquid IV is so effective. It’s because it’s an ORS.
A what? An “Oral Rehydration System”.
Even the World Health Organization sees it as such and most people don’t know that one of the five items every disaster relief person has on them is some kind of ORS.
Why?
In a disaster (think Hurricane Ian or the Cholera outbreak in Lebanon), keeping someone hydrated can help to keep them alive longer until they can get full medical treatment.
It’s why Liquid IV donates so much product to non profits like Direct Relief who in turn is sending people and much needed products to aid in disasters.
That’s where they started their giveback program, and then they expanded it to more….

2.2 Million Americans Don’t Have Access to Clean Drinking Water
This was a shocker for me. We always think about other countries when it comes to not having clean water or limited water access, but within the US?
Really?
We know of stories like Flint, Michigan, but there are many more. Many of which we never hear about.
This is where Liquid IV comes in. In an effort to help with equitable access to clean drinking water, they are donating toward non profits fighting toward this cause.
And this is where I come in…

On Tour with Liquid IV
I’ve spent over a year on and off going on tour with Liquid IV. First traveling around in a tricked out skoolie bus, and later in a really fun looking jeep.
I traveled the United States with another creator (Candice Kalb) as a Liquid IV Impact Ambassador.
What does it mean to go “on tour”?
It means we’d visit the non-profit partners and organizations that Liquid IV donates to, understand the work they are doing, do video interviews and create Youtube videos and social media stories to share their amazing work.
To be honest, it often pulled at my heart strings and there were many interviews in which I actively chose to edit out me being teary eyed on camera (and yes, for this project, I am both in front of the camera and behind the camera and editing the footage).
I didn’t realize the challenges our country faces with access to clean water. From the Colorado River potentially running dry if it continues on it’s same path of overconsumption to people paying high water bills for toxic water, the stories we uncovered were not always easy ones to hear.

If you want to learn more about why I’ve focused my creator efforts for good, you can read more about that by clicking here.
Short story: the “influencer world” is a lot of “look at me content”, showing off, smoke and mirrors, and well, I just feel like the Fake Plastic Trees song by Radiohead is playing on repeat.
See What We Created on Tour
This latest tour was a total of 2ish+ months. To see the video series we created you see the playlist here.
Stop 1: Los Angeles with Heal the Bay
Our first stop took us to a beach cleanup in Los Angeles with Heal the Bay. See our first stop in the video below or click here to read the blog post.
Stop 2: Moab with the Colorado Riverkeeper
Our second stop takes us to beautiful Moab, where we learn the Colorado River’s existence is at risk due to it’s water being promised to too many places.
Learn more in the video below or click here to read the blog post.
Stop 3: Colombia, Missouri with Hispanic Access Foundation
Our third stop took us somewhere I’ve never been: Missouri. We found ourselves on the University of Missouri campus interviewing the Hispanic Access Foundation about their work monitoring the water quality from the nearby lakes and streams that provide the residents of Missouri with fresh water.
What’s cool? The water quality is monitored by volunteers.
Everyday people can participate in helping to take water samples (there is a specific method and sampling kit provided to them) and the lab results are processed by a team of researchers on campus.
The challenge? The majority of the lakes and streams in Missouri are polluted. Learn more in the full video below…
FAQs
Here are the things people ask me the most.
Q: Can you get me free or discounted Liquid IV?
A: Nope! I sowie. But if you would have found us on the tour we’d give you tons!!!
Q: Do you get commission on the sales of Liquid IV?
A: Nope! But my favorite flavors are golden cherry, passionfruit and seaberry. In that order.
Q: How long were you on tour for? Where did you go?
A: About 2ish+ months. We went from LA to DC then Chicago then back to LA. This was our third tour, we’ve been on the road other times.
Q: Omg you were alone?!
A: Nope! I traveled with another creator, Candice. It was just the two of us.
Q: What did you use to create the content?
A: Iphones, Go Pros, 360 cameras, drones, Sony DSLRs, DJI and Rode mics, Macbooks and Final Cut Pro and a sprinkling of fairy dust. People always ask to see my vlog setup. It’s here.
Q: Do you ever get tired of being on the road?
A: Yes of course! But don’t you ever get tired of staring at the 4 walls of … your… cubicle… (let’s the awkward silence sink in).
Bottom Line
If you skipped to the bottom, well, I hate reading words, too, so I ain’t mad.
Here’s the rundown:
- Liquid IV is known for hydration, but almost no one knows they donate toward non profits helping to make water more equitable and accessible
- That’s because 2.2 million Americans don’t have access to drinking water and many don’t about this issue or the organizations fighting against this
- I went on tour creating youtube and social media posts for Liquid IV as their Impact Ambassador
- No it’s not a sales rep, nor a brand ambassador nor their influencer
- I was their creator highlighting stories of their giveback program to non profits focused on water security and water accessibility
