What are the Pickleball Facilities like at Halpatiokee Park

One of the best things about playing pickleball at Halpatiokee Park in comparison to other parks in the area is the seating area. A long walkway with a bench allows players to watch and wait for their turn to play with ample space.

Once inside the gated area you’ll find wind screens, dedicated pickleball court lines, and well maintained nets.

There is a ton of parking, albeit this park can get very busy on the weekends. While you’ll definitely find a spot, you may need to walk quite a ways to get to the courts.

The downsides of playing pickleball at Halpatiokee Park? There are two.

The first is that on some of the courts you’ll find dead spots in which if the ball lands there, it … well… dies.

The second is the restroom facility. It’s both far and not well maintained (it’s often flooded) or is sometimes locked. So don’t come with a full bladder.

When is Pickleball Open Play at Halpatiokee Park

If you’re looking for people to play pickleball with, Halpatiokee Park is consistently very busy.

One of the BEST things about Hapatiokee Park pickleball is the lights – which unlike other parks that close early, don’t turn off until late (11pm).

“Known” Open Play times:

• Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 8am
• Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm

In my own experience, I’ve found that the best time for many friendly players with a variety of play is on Saturday mornings and the most challenging play is coming weekdays very early in the morning.
