Failing in my marriage, my job, and leaving my city life might seem NOT awesome, but it was necessary for me to be able to step into my new life of freedom, adventure and travel.
The entire story can be found on Prognosis: Awesome! A podcast sharing stories of awesome (and not awesome) here.
At 35 mins: I talk about my rock bottom moment. A moment in which I gave away everything I owned. I shed my life of possessions.
Ask yourself this
Are you succeeding in the life YOU really want?
Or are you succeeding in living the life everyone is expecting of you
I was the latter. Ouch.
Key word: “was”
To appreciate a life of adventure, I needed to taste the boredom of my old life
To have complete FREEDOM I needed to shed a life of possessions and a place called home and someone that held me back from reaching my potential
No secret is spared. I talk about how NOT AWESOME my life was while being interviewed in the podcast Prognosis: Awesome!
Yes, including my most 𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘬 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘰𝘮 moment…
But ya know? When I was having that moment, I knew I was there. And in the darkness I was so, so excited to appreciate the light on the other side. In the meantime, I just needed to put on the 💩 seatbelt and ride it out.
Takeaway:
The pain of failure is often temporary. Only we can decide how long we want to wallow for. Get back up, be your own cheerleader, and get after the life you REALLY want because often the only thing holding us back is OURSELVES
I have a regular practice of high fiving myself.
It looks as ridiculous as you can imagine.
xoxo
