It’s awesome to own things you truly love. But I recently gave away something I love (my Mavic Air 2 drone) and I feel 100x richer afterwards.
(In case ya missed it, I gave away my drone. Click here to learn more about that and click here to learn who I gave it to.)
But I gave her something more precious to me: my time and my undivided attention in making her a badass pilot during her 4 days of in person training with me in Florida.
A LOT of helpful posts coming soon with drone tips that will make you super fly super fast (a preview of it in yesterday’s livestream (and there are more helpful livestreams from yesterday on Youtube and Instagram!)).. but I wanted to take a quick pause to think about…
Sometimes we get caught up in wanting more, getting more, asking for more, going after more, M-O-R-E is better
I could have sold my drone and used the money to (buy a plane ticket, stay at a nice hotel, add to my collection of bubbles, put it toward my next drone… ahem, the Mavic 3 Pro is coming out in a month and I’m getting it)… fill in the blank.
But you know what’s priceless to me? Watching Mia use every single advanced feature and function on the drone and learn how to fly it in extreme settings (helloooo wind, and alligator, and 3% battery warning with forced landing, etc) all while maintaining complete confidence by our third day together.
That’s rad. What’s more rad, is how giving is contagious. Randel @florida_diver found out what I was doing and it’s true. Your vibe attracts your tribe. He was stoked about what I was doing and jumped on the giving train and he and @chrishal4d gave Mia a DJI Osmo Pocket so she can started as a creator.
How 🤘🏽 rad is this story?!
Bottom Line
Our society often likes to flex about how much we own. Check out my sexy car. My fancy fill in the blank, etc. But what you own doesn’t make you badass. It’s how full your heart is. Badassery is giving from the heart.
Tell me: what have you recently given away?
