What Is Scarlet Night?
Scarlet Night is Virgin Voyages’ signature themed event night, taking place once per sailing.
The entire ship gets decked out in red lights, and the energy shifts into overdrive with surprise performances, pop-up entertainment, and a grand pool party at the end of the night.

While the festivities are always packed with excitement, you can expect the following:
- A kickoff performance at The Roundabout
- Live music and interactive entertainment spread throughout the ship
- A massive pool party (weather permitting)
- The night culminating at The Manor nightclub
Scarlet Night isn’t a formal affair—think of it as a celebration of fun, with plenty of opportunities to dance, explore, and meet new people.
The night evolves as it moves across the ship, so expect plenty of surprises!

What to Wear for Scarlet Night
When it comes to what to wear, there’s one rule: Wear red.
But that doesn’t mean you need to wear a fancy gown or tuxedo (although you can!). This night is all about having fun and expressing yourself, so be comfortable and creative with your outfit.
“Don’t forget to pack red! But more importantly, don’t think that it needs to be some crazy, glamorous thing. You can wear a red shirt from Walmart with a pair of jeans or just grab a Virgin Voyages hat from the retail store. It doesn’t have to be over the top, but it’s fun to be dressed in red along with everyone else.”

While some guests go all out in extravagant costumes, others keep things casual. You’ll see everything from simple red tees to full-on themed outfits.
There’s really no wrong way to do it—just make sure you’re wearing red!
Packing Tips for Scarlet Night:
✔ Wear something red – Anything from a simple t-shirt to a costume will do.
✔ Choose comfortable shoes – The pool deck can be slippery, and you’ll be dancing a lot.
✔ Consider a second outfit – Many guests change into something comfy for the pool and then again for the club.
✔ Take advantage of Virgin Voyages’ Glam Stations – You can get rhinestones, glitter, and face paint applied for free!
“The most uncomfortable people I saw on the ship weren’t the over-the-top dressed ones—it was the poor men wearing tuxedos with red bow ties. Oh, those poor guys. It was so hot!”

Where & When Does Scarlet Night Happen?
Scarlet Night kicks off at 9:00 PM at The Roundabout (Decks 6 & 7), but the fun doesn’t stop there.
This continues until about 10:30 PM and then everyone is pushed up to the pool (on Decks 15 & 16). If it’s raining, the pool party is held in The Red Room.

The Party Locations to Know:
The Manor – This is the final stop for the party, where you’ll end the night dancing the hours away.
The Roundabout (Deck 6 & 7) – Scarlet Night officially begins here with a kickoff show.
On The Rocks & The Social Club – There’s live music and surprise performances here throughout the night.
Grounds Club – A DJ will be setup and spinning music
Sip – Games and pop up entertainment
The Pool Deck – If the weather is nice, the pool party will take place here, but if not, it will be moved to an indoor venue like The Red Room.
Mistakes to Avoid on Scarlet Night
As fun as Scarlet Night is, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement and make some common mistakes. Here’s what not to do:

1. Don’t Book a Late Dinner
“If you want to participate in Scarlet Night, don’t book dinner at 8:30 PM or later. I booked mine at 6:00 PM so I had time to change and be ready for the fun!”
Make sure to eat earlier so you’re not rushing to get dressed and miss the exciting start of Scarlet Night.
2. Don’t Wear Uncomfortable Shoes
The party eventually moves to the pool deck, and the floor can be wet and slippery, so avoid wearing shoes that could make you slip.
“I saw a few ladies struggling in six-inch stilettos—yikes! Be prepared to kick off your shoes if you plan to get near the pool.”
3. Don’t Miss the Photo Booth
The photo booth becomes very popular during Scarlet Night, and the line can get long quickly. If you want to snap a fun memory, go straight there after the Red Wedding show finishes before the line grows too long.

4. Don’t Think It’s Just the Pool Party
Scarlet Night is not just about the pool party—there’s entertainment happening all over the ship. Take some time to explore the various venues and performances.
5. Don’t Forget the Late-Night Pizza
After hours of dancing, you’ll be ready for a midnight snack. The pizza place is open until 2:00 AM, and you don’t need to wait inside. Grab a buzzer, head out to the dance floor, and when your pizza is ready, you’ll get a notification.

Don’t forget to pack THIS!
Virgin Voyages has reimagined sailing and what you need to pack on for this trip is DIFFERENT than a normal cruise line. There are many items I wish I knew to bring (that I didn’t have with me on my first sailing).
