Understanding how to find pickleball in Mexico City
Before we get into the actual places to play, it’s helpful to know some of the nuances for how to find pickleball play in. Mexico City.
Every place I’ve played (see the entire list by clicking here) has different “cultures” around how people connect and find games with one another.
In Mexico City it’s primarily via What’s App and Instagram. They don’t use scheduler apps or things like that.
It’s still a growing sport here, so a very small group of people more or less run the entire pickleball scene here. Serve in the City is a helpful instagram page to get a lay of the land.
Eat BBQ and play pickleball at Pinche Pickle n’Q
If you’re looking for a good time (with some beverages in hand while playing pickleball), then play at Pinche Gringo BBQ warehouse, a texas style restaurant that converts into a pickleball space!
The ability to eat more calories consuming texas style BBQ than you actually burn playing pickleball AND they have a full bar?! When I learned about the open play opportunity at Pinche I signed up immediately.
On Mondays from 7:30-10:30pm the restaurant moves all the tables out of the main dining space to allow temporary nets and chalked lines.
There is a full menu of BBQ items (I had the brisket and bacon sandwich) and most people drank beer while we played (they have a small selection of wine as well).
How’s the pickleball? It’s fun! But this is definitely casual play. The lighting in here is great for restaurant ambiance and TOUGH for pickleball. The ball can roll into weird places (or behind the restaurant counter), which isn’t a big deal, but get ready for some hide and seek.
For $250 ($13 USD) you can enjoy some fun pickleball games. We had six of us there when I played, but they can setup up to 4 courts when you play here.
