Dive into a day aboard Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady, a ship that’s changing the cruise game.
With its unique design and experiences, this isn’t your typical cruise. Whether you’re a cruise veteran or newbie, this ship offers a variety of fun-packed activities.
Below is a a guide to give you ideas of things to do and make the most of your day.
Your Morning Aboard Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady
Don’t forget you also have the option to NOT have a morning. The staterooms on Virgin Voyages are incredibly comfortable with thoughtful design and very pillowy beds.
Scarlet Night is one of the most fun nights on the ship and generally, the next day might be a bit of a slow start.…
Recovering from Scarlet Night: Coffee or Booze
The evening’s delights often spill into the wee hours, with its vibrant pool party and ship-wide entertainment. If the allure of the night has you waking up slightly groggy, you’ve got options to start your day right (whether you’re going for coffee or hair of the dog).
Pop into The Galley in the food hall (or The Grounds Club on the 7th floor), where the scent of freshly brewed coffee fills the air. Their offerings are rich and diverse; however, a top pick for coffee lovers is the creamy flat white for just $4.
Of course you also have the option to add alcohol to your coffee or just go straight for a mimosa (hold the orange juice).
Indulgent Brunch Options
While it’s tempting to dive straight into activities, prioritize a good brunch. Onboard, the culinary experience is curated to perfection. Razzle Dazzle, with its quirky interiors, offers sugary delights such as rich and fluffy French toasts drizzled with maple syrup and fresh berries.
Meanwhile, The Wake appeals to those with savory inclinations. A must-try is their steak and eggs, cooked to perfection, with the steak tender and eggs cooked just right. Their pork belly Benedict is a must-order, but don’t forget, portions are unlimited so you can order one of everything if your heart desires.
Many people don’t realize this and complain they “go hungry” on this ship. This tip with tons of other inside pro tips can be found in this blog post.
An Afternoon of Relaxation or Adventure on Scarlet Lady
Most people relax poolside on Scarlet Lady, but in my opinion, it can be pretty crowded (and difficult to get a good seat unless you’re scoping early). I prefer to minimize my sun time for the beach club (if you’re at port in Bimini) and start my afternoon with some serious relaxation…
Ultimate Relaxation at the Thermal Suite Spa
Post brunch, it’s time for a bit of relaxation, especially if you’re feeling the after-effects of the previous night.
The Thermal Suite offers a plethora of spa experiences. While VIP guests, identifiable by their Black bands, have complimentary access, others can experience this luxury at $39 for three hours (and as long as it’s not crowded, it’s worth every dollar). The suite comprises saunas, steam rooms, invigorating hot and cold tubs, and a unique mud experience. As the steam rises and muscles relax, any residue of fatigue melts away, leaving you refreshed and ready for the day.

Bimini Island Private Beach Club
A stop at Bimini Island in the Bahamas is a trademark of the Scarlet Lady. Unlike traditional port stops, Bimini Island offers an exclusive experience. Rather than getting lost in the usual hustle of ports, hop onto the free shuttle that takes you straight to Virgin’s private beach club. VIPs are in for an added treat with a direct shuttle to the beach club.
Pro tip: the BEST TIME to be at the Beach Club is between 1-3 p.m. This is when the beach club comes alive with live music from the DJ and the entire happenings cast comes out.
It’s helpful to know everything from the ship is the same experience at the Beach Club. This means: free wifi, towels provided, and water.
Pro-tip: The crispy cassava at the club is not just a snack; it’s an experience. Lightly salted, with a texture that’s just right, it’s a MUST order when you are here.
Your Evening Aboard Virgin Voyages
As the day winds down, I’ll be honest – there is often a lull period from around 5-8pm before things start to pick back up. If there is a time to take a nap, it’s NOW. Recharge those batteries, because IF you desire, you can have a late night every night of your sailing.
Indulge in a Delicious Dinner – All Specialty Dining is Included
I generally prefer to have dinner (given the lull time) around 8pm, so if you’re hungry earlier, I recommend a snack before you take a nap at The Dock House.
Not only can you lounge on the many day beds out back (waaaay easier than getting one by the pool), but their tapas-style dishes, are little bites of heaven.
But like I mentioned, the food isn’t the only highlight. With an enchanting outdoor area replete with daybeds, it promises an al fresco dining experience with a view of the open ocean from the back of the ship.
Ready for the FULL dinner experience?
Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady offers a remarkable range of dining experiences, emphasizing culinary finesse and innovation. Some highlights include:
- The Wake: An upscale steak and seafood restaurant, The Wake is not only about mouth-watering dishes but also about the experience. Situated at the back of the ship, diners can enjoy panoramic views, making it a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a celebratory meal.
- Razzle Dazzle: This establishment is truly one of a kind, standing out for its quirky, vibrant design. Razzle Dazzle isn’t just about the visual aesthetics; its menu features a variety of vegan delights that are as tantalizing to the palate as the restaurant is to the eyes.
- The Test Kitchen: This spot is for those who appreciate the art and science of cooking. Doubling as a cooking school and avant-garde dining venue, The Test Kitchen is a culinary lab where the menus are intriguingly presented as ingredient lists, inviting guests on a gastronomic exploration.
- Pink Agave: Immerse yourself in the rich flavors of Mexico at Pink Agave. The restaurant creates an intimate and atmospheric setting, reminiscent of the streets of Mexico City. Authentic Mexican dishes, crafted with precision and passion, make it a must-visit for those seeking a taste of true Mexican cuisine.
- The Galley: Casual yet diverse, The Galley is designed to mimic a bustling food hall. With a plethora of options spanning various international cuisines, guests can wander from stall to stall, sampling a world of flavors under one roof. It’s perfect for those looking for variety and a laid-back dining experience.

Watch a Show Then Put On Your Dancing Shoes
If you didn’t read the insider tip about booking your shows in advance, you can still drop in (and for example, sit upstairs at The Manor). Catch a show, a drink at On The Rocks (the bar at the base of the spiral stair connecting the 6th and 7th floors) or even better, a glass of fine champagne at Sip the Champagne Bar.
Then head into the Manor (or depending on which night it is, to the back of the boat) or a themed party. It’s all about dressing FUN and not fancy (although you can wear whatever you want, PJs included at the PJ party). Themed outfits are a thing to pack – so don’t forget about them!
Don’t forget to pack THIS!
Virgin Voyages has reimagined sailing and what you need to pack on for this trip is DIFFERENT than a normal cruise line. There are many items I wish I knew to bring (that I didn’t have with me on my first sailing).
Get a free printable pack list and save yourself the headache!
OR if you’re just looking for some inspo! See the curated list of Amazon items I’ve put together (and use!) for Virgin Voyages.
Don’t forget you to end your evening with late night pizza. Your buzzer will reach alllll the way to the dance floor at The Manor so you can keep the dancing going while you wait for your freshly made pizza to come out hot from the oven.
Bottom Line
Many people think they’ll be bored on Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady, but in reality, most people find themselves with such a packed schedule they’re craving time to relax and just hang out.
There are an endless number of things to do on this ship, from the active and adventurous, to the indulgent with food or VIP experiences, to just pure relaxation with experiences like the Thermal Suite.
